We’re happy to announce that we’ll be hosting a DataThon to help…
Youth Without Shelter: https://www.yws.on.ca/

Since 1986, Youth Without Shelter (YWS) has helped more than 15,000 homeless youth between ages 16-24 to build their confidence & life-skills and to find long-term stable housing & jobs. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they are dedicated to providing shelter and support programs in a safe environment, with the goal of getting youth off the streets permanently.

MANDATORY EVENTBRITE TICKET: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/dfg-datathon-youth-without-shelter-tickets-60133227101
You will receive two NDAs in your email when you sign up for an Eventbrite ticket.
On May 4th, we will be helping Youth Without Shelter create donor profiles and answer business problems about donor behaviours with machine-learning and geo-spatial mapping. We’ll also be augmenting third-party data to enrich the dataset.

Volunteers will discover insights, build models, and present their findings to YWS by the end of the day. It’s an excellent way to contribute your data science skills to help your community and have your findings be featured in a published case-study.

It is strongly recommended that you have data scientist/data analyst experience in R or Python and that you can commit for the full 9AM-9PM period.
